More details:
The victim [Phan Van Dat, a 28-year-old Vietnamese man who lives in Siem Reap], said that on July 1, 2020, he arrived in Phnom Penh and went drinking. Then, he went to the Riverside area to look for a girl, and he met two girls who were standing on the street. He asked the suspect to sleep with him at Moha Sombath guesthouse. He paid her 50 USD.
When she left the guesthouse, the victim realized that he had lost his wallet with 2,000 USD.
Then, on July 21, 2020, the man saw the same girl on the street, so he caught her and took her to the police station. The suspect said that she didn't steal the wallet; according to her, a man named Yun was the thief.

Re: Sex Worker Arrested on Riverside for Wallet Theft
What a choice? You report the theft and have your name spread all over the internet that you picked up a street hooker for $50 (no, no way too much!) and you are so absolutely stupid that you allowed your wallet with $2000 to leave the room with her? Or take the $2000 hit, stay silent and move on. He is not going to get the $2000 back anyway (if in fact there was $2000 there). His family should be proud of his new found celebrity.

^ totally agree with cambo swa + 'stupid from every angle evident'. I mean she too supppsedly just waltzed right back out on the beat..
Re: Sex Worker Arrested on Riverside for Wallet Theft
These girls are brazen to say the least, I had a moto stolen by a girl from pontoon, and she was in there the very next night to which i promptly got my moto back. That someone wouldn't go lie low for a month or two after stealing $2k, or a moto and return to the same spot the very next night defies belief really.
Re: Sex Worker Arrested on Riverside for Wallet Theft
She was arrested 1 month after the incident!
My question is, are here charges related to the overall theft value? more value = more time?
Was there really 2K, how can this even be proven and how do they know it was her?
I get the feeling, anyone can cry victim of any offence here and the accused is automatically proven guilty!

Re: Sex Worker Arrested on Riverside for Wallet Theft
Don't forget that there were two women involved in the theft, so it's likely that the first one, who was arrested the day after the theft, gave the other woman's details to the police, and they have been searching since then.
She probably also confirmed to police that there was $2000 in the wallet, which was taken away by the other woman so she wasn't getting any of it.
