Exactly, goes to show how badly most people did at school, can’t see white from black.
phuketrichard wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2020 9:55 am If ur not sick, why would u get tested?
Many people don’t have a choice because they arrived from somewhere or by profession.

Even more people were scared into that. If you watch tv of other countries as i do, you will see queues of young people feeling fine but who stand long hours waiting for their turn to a testing center. Of course, with that kind of dedication, more and more infections will be found, no matter that those young people had no symptoms in the first place and wouldn’t know if they didn’t get tested.
I suppose the math and rationale works especially well when:
1) You don't consider any of the potential chronic/long term illness that people face even if they recover.
2) You don't consider the need to not overload the healthcare system with patients.
3) You're young and do test positive, but don't change your behavior to prevent infecting others.

COVID-19 Testing Lab in Siem Reap Province Put Into Use
AKP Phnom Penh, July 27, 2020 --

The Ministry of Health has put into official use a laboratory for COVID-19 testing in Siem Reap province – the move that will broaden the access in the zone, beyond the provincial boundary.
The inauguration ceremony took place in Siem Reap provincial city this morning. [Yesterday]
The lab will help speed up process of COVID-19 testing for Cambodians and foreigners visiting the areas, without sending specimens for testing in Phnom Penh anymore.

The second standard laboratory of Cambodia is equipped with GeneXpert recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
GeneXpert provides point-of-care option allowing hospital and clinic to perform diagnostic tests in-house, rather than sending them to outside lab.
The ministry is also planning to establish COVID-19 testing laboratories in other provinces of Cambodia such as Battambang and Kampong Cham, said H.E. Kros Sarath, Director of Siem Reap Provincial Health Department.

That's interesting, not a Cambodian. I bet his pre flight test is now being scrutinised. India is at 1.5 million cases and growing uncontrollably. Given their population size and lack of proper medical resources outside the big cities, you have to think that number is a low estimate of the true scale of infection.

From the Khmer Times today:
Ministry of Health officials said that the Indian national had traveled to Cambodia via several countries. He had flown from India to Malaysia and onto to South Korea before arriving in Phnom Penh on July 26.

Wow, he took the long way round. I don't suppose India to here is an easy task. Must be rich, would have cost a fortune!!

....He tested positive for the virus on 13th day of his 14-day quarantine yesterday.

wow;
so tested within 72 hours before flying in.....negative
tested on arrival..... negative (or was he positive, hence reason he was in quarantine)?
than 13 days later in quarantine.... Positive??
did he have overnight guests?
