Motorcyclist Hit by Falling Metal Bar on Phnom Penh Street

Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: Road travelers near high-rise construction sites are warned to be careful! On the afternoon of July 20, 2020, a male motorcyclist on the road was struck on the head, and was seriously injured, by a falling piece of metal while he rode a motorbike carrying mattresses on street 271.

The metal bar fell from the construction site of the condominium building near the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital on Street 271, corner of Street 187 in Khan Boeung Keng Kang, and hit the man on the head. Despite the fact that he was wearing a motorcycle helmet, the impact of the falling debris caused severe head injuries. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

This happen a lot and still... Whenever I drive by construction building, I got the chilled. The crane would be hanging tons of concrete just above your head.

It's great how they warn motorists to pay attention when passing construction sites , but what about some security surveillance and safety regulations on these highrise buildings in the middle of the city ?
