Cambodia News, Kandal province: On July 16, 2020, the police of Kampong Samnang Post, Takhmao City, received a complaint from the relatives and children of a pregnant woman who died on 15 July 2020.
They claim that the suspect, the woman's third husband, intentionally used violence against his wife, Sum Srey Moeun, 37, a 6-month-pregnant construction worker, to the point where it killed her.
The woman had had a difficult life, with a first husband divorced, the second husband died from AIDS, and the third and current husband was a violent drunk who beat her to death, leaving 6 children.


The suspect, who has now been arrested by the police, is Nop Sovannara, a 45 year old electrician, also HIV positive, living in Kampong Samnang commune, Takhmao city.


At 7:30 pm on July 8, 2020 at the construction site of Prek Reang village, Kampong Samnang commune, Takhmao city, the suspect drank a lot of alcohol and had an argument with his wife. He beat her up and kicked her around, and the next day, on 9 July, the victim was taken to the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital for a medical examination.
The beaten woman, who was also sick with pneumonia and HIV, was then hospitalized urgently. She was treated at the hospital for 7 days, until July 15, 2020 at 1:57 AM,when she and the unborn child both died.

What a tragic end to a tragic life. RIP.

RIP poor lady. She had such an unlucky life and a miserable death. Hope in her rebirth she gets to be an okhna or something.

I’m not a violent man but it seems to me you gotta fight fire with fire. I knew a girl married to a violent drunk, wife beater but not wife killer (tho likely soon to be.) One day her brother couldn’t take it anymore and dragged the scumbag out back behind the garage, knocked him to the ground, then administered a savage kick to the chin. He told me the guys eyes were spinning like pinwheels and imagined a “tilt“ warning ringing. Musta been some kinda brain reset cause after that the guy never laid a finger on her again.
