Smackdown Over Bad Smell Between Phnom Penh Market Sellers

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On July 20, 2020, a 36-year-old woman, Seik Saven, a seller, was sent to the court for the attack on another woman at the market. The victim, identified as Sim Sopheak, 35 years old, also a seller, was seriously injured and sent for treatment at the hospital.

On July 17, 2020, at 3:40 pm, the victim's daughter, 14 years old, remarked that there was a bad smell coming from shop no.610, and 611, at the Tropeang Thleng market. The owner of the supposedly smelly shop became extremely upset about the remark, and she argued with the victim, which turned into a fight between the two shops, where the offended woman and her daughter attacked the victim and her daughter. The victim was injured on the face and forehead, and her daughter got slightly wounded.

The suspect and daughter were both detained, but the daughter is a minor, so she was released to go home. The suspect will face legal action.

OK, stop guessing what they were selling in that shop. We all know what it was.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

All the markets stink. It's a health hazard just being near them
