Some sort of police raid on hostess bars in st 130 and 136?
It's Sunday night and all should be relatively peaceful right?
Well about an hour ago I heard loud speakers blaring like the typical parking police and a bit later Mrs Cargo comes home and says the police told the food sellers outside the bars to move on.
So on the way to dinner I investigate.. I dunno whether the bars have been shut or not but some have girls standing in the dark at the front with no tables and chairs to be seen. Even the Ostro restaurant on the corner of st 5/136 has moved all it's chairs and tables inside off the front footpath..
By the way, maybe unrelated but did the authorities ever give the OK to reopen? They've sort of had a 'soft' opening for 6 weeks or so with lights out and no music out the front..

The parking police were back early this morning cleaning up the pavements and parked vehicles. Then 1 hr later the motos and cars are back..
Will be interesting to see if the bars reopen tonight. Maybe @jah steu can shed some light?

Obviously, this needs further investigation. Any volunteers to monitor streets 130 and 136 tonight ?

My homie is already on the scene.
Some sort of police raid on hostess bars in st 130 and 136?
I heard two things happened. Two nights ago a Chinese guy unknowingly took a ladyboy home and then wouldn’t pay her, so she and her mates got into a scuffle with him which ran the length of street 136. He is rumoured to be in Prey Sar now.
The second incident was when a few PP Hilton girls started a fight with some Wild Orchid girls and others joined in. Wild Orchid is closed until further notice and Alaska, Hilton, Drinks and Yellow bar also closed for at least one night.
The bars have been discreetly open for the last two months, but some bars have been testing the limits on external lighting by turning on more and more illumination. The police have recently increased their patrols and told the offending bars to turn these lights off.
To cap everything off the municipality has now decided to enforce its demand to remove all external furniture and fittings from the front patios and all front external metal roofs from the bars. From today it is ripping them all down, starting at Butterfly bar in street 136.
