But does it fly for real ?
Re: First Cambodian Homemade Helicopter Much Admired on Social Media
Start with these plans for $20:
http://www.redbackaviation.com/homebuil ... elicopter/
Add a skin to it, and vioila! You too can have a helicopter if you have the skills and the patience. Of course, you'll likely do a lot better and be alot safer simply buying a kit for the bargain price of only $142,000 USD.
https://silodrome.com/safari-400-kit-helicopter/
Of course, all this assumes that you happen to be independently wealthy, because just paying the ATC fees in Cambodia will set you back several hundred dollars every time you lift off the ground. Hope this guy is extremely rich. The Cambodia Flying Club folded because the government was so unhelpful and antagonistic towards the general aviation industry.
Sometimes you wonder if experimenters like this understand exactly how intrusive and expensive regulatory compliance will be.

I've seen these before in the markets so I'm not sure he's the first.CEOCambodiaNews wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 10:40 pm It is the first helicopter that has been made by a Cambodian.

Good on the brave Khmer, but frankly I’d be afraid to fly with him.
Flying a helicopter is orders off magnitude more difficult that flying an airplane. (At least to me.) Once planes take off, keeping them level is pretty straightforward. A helicopter always balances on the cone on instability.
Both planes and helicopter pilots go through simulators first, then trainer aircraft.

This brave guy? Simulator time? Probably none. Trainer time? Probably none.

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

A friend of a friend in Australia had a gyrocopter. He said it is completely safe, as if the motor fails, you can glide down. The next time I went to visit my friend, she told me he was dead. The motor had failed above trees. When the blades hit the trees, they stopped spinning, and he fell to his death.
