18Yo Taekwando Woman Athlete Killed in Fire

Cambodia News (Kampong Speu): On July 05, 2020, at noon, a house caught on fire, killing an 18-year-old girl, Yong Sokhunkanha, a Taekwondo athlete with the ITF, in Phnom Dey village, Chbar Morn city, Kampong Speu. She has competed in national championships and made many achievements for Kampong Speu.

According to Mr. Pal Chivong, a coach of ITF Taekwondo said the victim died of asphyxiation from the smoke and the heat of the fire while she was trying to escape from the burning house.

Mr. Bounhing Sothiya, the secretary of ITF Taekwando federation and team, went to join the funeral and offered some money for the funeral services, which were held on 6 July 2020.
