When To Book Flights To Thailand?
Re: When To Book Flights To Thailand?
The $3000 deposit is everyone (but recent reports have said they didn't pay any deposit)Multipox wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 7:47 pmi am unsure of what you are saying hereDoc67 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2020 2:59 pm ....
The $3000 is the full amount if you are Covid-19 positive, spend 2 week in a shit hospital and die. If you are unlucky and someone on your flight is positive, it pays for all your costs of your holiday in Club Hell.
If you are lucky and pass the immigration scrutiny of your documents, and nobody is positive after your 24 hours sweating away in the mosquito farm, then you owe them about $165, including certificate.
You then have the problem of extracting the balance of your $3000 from whoever holds it. If you're employer has paid it, and they have connections and Khmer speaking staff, they might get some or all of the balance.
....
IF YOU TEST POSITIVE, ONLY THEN, YOU PAY 3000
If you don't test positive at the airport, then you still have spend 24 hours somewhere? where is this?
and pay them 165 for what?
and the certificate is for the negative test they give you or that you brought from outside?
There is a holding centre where you wait for the tests, overnight in most cases, but, a recent report suggested that once you were tested you were taken straight to your hotel without waiting for the results.
$165 is: Test $100 - Transport $5 - Overnight at holding centre $30 - Covid-19 Free certificate $30. This is separate from the one your brought with you.
At this juncture it is a waiting and watching game. In a month we will all have a much better idea of what is awaiting people who try to get in.

I can't imagine any better place to contract Covid than at a Cambodian holding center.
It looks like we don't need the certificate from outside if they are testing us anyway. The Cambodians wil figure that out.
So do you know if we jump this hurdle can we still just buy the business visa at the airport or do we have to get it at a consulate overseas?

August opening? Tourists allowed in three phases - slow, a bit more open, then open slather. The camel has got its nose in the tent.
