Tuktuk Driver and Friend Arrested for Stealing Buddha Statues in Prey Veng
Cambodia News (Prey Veng): On July 3, 2020, at 12:30 pm, after receiving a complaint from the chief monk at Chbar Prey pagoda, the police arrested two men for stealing 14 buddha statues, in Sras Thkov village, Preah Sdach district, Prey Veng.
The suspects were identified as Sam Ri, 39 years old, Kong Farith, 36 years old. One of them is a pass app tuktuk driver. They went into the pagoda and stole the statues to resell.
The police confiscated a PassApp tuk-tuk, plate no. PP1IH-2437, 14 buddha statues, and some tools used for stealing. The suspects were detained at the police station for case preparation.
