Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
looks like it will still be a wile did tourists can enjoy the country again.
https://www.bangkokpost.com/travel/1941 ... HqNQZxioKUA senior director in the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand said [on June 20] that international flights were not likely to resume in Thailand until late September.
CAAT director-general, Chula Sukmanop, was [reported saying] none of the airlines he met had expressed interest in resuming international flights by next month when the order shutting down the country's airspace is due to expire.
....
Although flights have resumed (domestic only), the AoT think getting back to normal volume however will take longer. Looking at the long-range forecast for recovery AoT announced flights wouldn't return to 'normal' before October 2021.

The state of emergency was extended for another month, until July 31, at Monday (June 29)’s meeting of the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).
The meeting, which was headed by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, considered the fifth phase of lockdown easing, the state of emergency, and the reopening of Thailand’s border to foreigners.
The CCSA reportedly extended the state of emergency to aid the fifth-phase easing and the reopening of schools and colleges on July 1.
Businesses set to be reopened on July 1 include pubs, bars and entertainment venues.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand on Monday reported seven new coronavirus cases, all of which were imported, marking 35 days without community transmission.
The seven cases were Thais returning from India and the United States who had tested positive while in state quarantine, said Sukhum Kanchanapimai, the health ministry's permanent secretary.
The coronavirus has killed 58 people in Thailand, among 3,169 infections, of which 3,053 patients have recovered.

Hundreds of hungry monkeys swarm across Thai street as 'rival gangs' fight over food after tourists who normally feed them stay away because of coronavirus
The coronavirus has led to a large drop in tourists that might generally deliver the monkeys food
- Monkeys normally well fed by tourists in city of Lopburi, central Thailand
But visitors have plummeted because of the coronavirus gripping the world
Skirmish between monkey began after one had a juicy banana
Monkeys part of 'rival gangs' - those from city and those from temples
At first the primates are seen running independently as they appear to look for food.
But then the noise of their cries increases dramatically as dozens chase a single monkey which seems to have a banana.
They are seen jumping on it and others as they fight over the food.
Even locals who are used to seeing the monkeys were shocked by their ferocity.

Wildlife Officials in Lopburi Thailand to Sterilize Aggressive Monkeys
June 22, 2020
By CTN News
Wildlife officials have kicked off an annual scheme to sterilize hundreds of monkeys in Lopburi province to control the increasingly aggressive animals. Residents in the city have complained of how aggressive the monkeys have become.
Narongporn Doodduem, director of the Wildlife Conservation Department of Protected told the Bangkok Post the move had the backing of residents. For several years, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has run the campaign.
Above all because residents living in Muang district have become exasperated by the behaviour of the monkeys. Despite their popularity with tourists, the Monkeys have become increasingly aggressive with local residents.
With a population of about 1,000, the monkeys frequently break into property and cause damage. They also interfere with infrastructure such as power lines, disrupting supply.
The majority of the monkeys live in historic sites in the middle of Muang municipality of Lop Buri province.
Officials on Sunday set a traps in the middle of the city and scores of monkeys were caught. They were taken to a state veterinary hospital to be spayed or neutered.
In March Lopburi was terrorized by monkeys who were seen fighting over limited amounts of food. Normally the monkeys are fed by hundreds of tourists but due to the outbreak of the covid-19, tourism dried up. Forcing the monkeys to find food on their own.
In a video posted to Twitter the monkeys can be seen chasing and fighting each other in the middle of the street. The monkeys get louder as they chase one monkey who seems to have a banana.
An onlooker, Sasaluk Rattanachai, who captured video said “They looked more like wild dogs than monkeys. They went crazy for a single piece of food. I’ve never seen them this aggressive,” Rattanachai said.
“I think the monkeys were also very, very hungry. They’re normally a lot of tourists here to feed the monkeys but now there are not as many, because of the coronavirus.

Interesting...according to BBC News; The European Union have added Thailand to a list of only 14 or so safe countries allowed to enter from 1st July. So maybe this could influence them in return? I'm from the UK but as we're still technically in the EU, I don't mind!

Re: Thailand Travel Restrictions and Info
Hopefully the UK will give a 'green' light for travelling to Thailand on 6th July (according to this report below) Will have to wait and see if Cambodia will be green, amber or red, or even on the list. They should be green in theory though going by Covid numbers but that's just my opinion! This will determine if your travel insurance is valid, which is another crucial tick off the list. Let's hope for the best!Wrightstate wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 3:56 pmSame article here:Wrightstate wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 2:34 am Interesting...according to BBC News; The European Union have added Thailand to a list of only 14 or so safe countries allowed to enter from 1st July.
