New $87M Brewery for Phnom Penh
New Vattanac brewery to be built in Phnom Penh

Cambodian Vattanac Brewery Co Ltd’s has announced its plans launch a new $87 million brewery in Phnom Penh. Vattanac Brewery is a subsidiary of Vattanac Group and they produce well-known brands such as Tiger, Heineken and Black Panther.
The brewery received approval from the Cambodian government in a move “aimed at increasing local production and reducing imports” reports the Phnom Penh Post. In addition, the brewery will create 899 jobs, said the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC).
The Cambodian brewery is located in Prek Eng commune’s Roboh Angkanh village in Chbar Ampov district, east of the Bassac River in the capital.
The Cambodian Royal Academy of Cambodia economics researcher Hong Vanak said: “In line with the continued growth of investment in brewing, Cambodia also needs to strengthen its human resources and production quality, especially for the export market.”
Cambodian breweries
Earlier in 2020, Hanuman Beverages Co Ltd received approval from Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) for a $160.6 million brewery to be built in Kandal province’s Ang Snuol district. The plant will produce beer and soft drinks and create 1,545 jobs.
There are 10 breweries and beverage plants listed at the Cambodian ministry in 2020.

$140 million brewery will employ 1,500
Vattanac Brewery Ltd, a subsidiary of Vattanac Group, a prominent business in Cambodia, yesterday broke ground for the construction of a nearly $140 million brewery factory in the capital.
The brewery will be in Robos Angkanh village Sangkat Prek Eng, Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh, after receiving approval from the Council for the Development of Cambodia on June 10, 2020. It will cover a total of 150,000 square metres. The company will invest around $139.5million in the facility. Vattanac Brewery plans to start production in 2021 with a capacity of 76 million boxes of beer per year.
The company will be recruiting local and foreign personnel with knowledge, experience and skill in beer production and business management. The brewery anticipates employing 1,500 staff when it is fully operational.
