Elsewhere on the Internet today

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Are you suggesting that 440 commissioned that photo or that it is the IP of whoever posted it in 440? Otherwise, your point is invalid.

It's defintiely someone's sockpppet for the other forum. My guess is Jackie Camry or some other wankstain.

I did not stay long enough on this place, so the name is not familiar. Even if I read him, given tone that I could only qualify as either : the teen "I am angry against the world by principle" or the wife beater "women why are you always so stupid when I start on my third pack" , the lack of structure, idea or just content, very improbable that I remember him.

Who cares? He doesn't matter. He was a twat there and still a twat here.

Well yes interesting is rare, boring is plentiful. Much more easier to ignore on the Internet than real life.

Taking news events off media outlets is different from taking threads directly off that other forum. If people continually copy K440 threads onto here and use the exact same pictures used over there, then what's the point?
I found out about it on Facebook, & posted hereas this first forum i perused. I've only just seen the thread on the other site, so your insinuation is insulting to say the least

Yes I did post that pic!
And yes, I did copy it from jm's post on 440! So what?!

I knew Snow personally and worked with him for many years, long before Maxine's existed. I liked the pic!

Move on chaps, nothing to see here.

born-confused... you do realize it's less about what they did, and more about what they're currently doing right?

i mean the admin of that forum literally alleged i was into kiddie porn to his members the other day until gavin came and cleared it up... that's a little over the top. not to mention his continuing twitter bashing and targeting/badmouthing of our advertisers...

What is the working definition of "kiddie porn" these days anyway? There's a mania witch hunt it appears sometimes. A photo of a 17 1/2 year old girl playing beach volleyball in a bikini was recently described as "kiddie porn"...so it goes...

no idea, but apparently someone i sent an unrelated pm to was pushing it. kir made it seem like my pm was related to that in some way... which is just despicable behavior, personal/'professional' differences or not.

(the quotes are because i don't see owning this forum as a profession... or him owning his as one either.)

Sure OD - and so I have no issue with you or your gripe with them. I do though with the innane comments about "I want tits coz they won't let me" or SDs over-infatuation with them with the "oh oh look, they are now talking about morning teas", these make the threads just lame, childish dribble. I also take issue for being accused of "copying" a thread from the other side, which was about a mate who died - WTF??
As for your stoush with them, by all means call them out on it, take issue with the lies and innuendo, sort it out like men, not keyboard warriors - but for you and the admin to do so. And if you can't make any headway with them, then make a clear and distinct statement for all to read - even a sticky, and leave it up to the masses to either take sides, OR (and in my opinion the majority would do this) to be totally happy to coexist.
K440 was great in the early days - there was a time when it was raw, anything goes, but the site has had to evolve as time went on, and along with it the quality, mainly IMHO due to the newer type of person moving into Cambodia who post shit that deserves to go on the Cambodian Parents Network. So, for many of the old stagers, that has meant a generational change which they ain't used to, and/or are refusing to get used to.
I seriously want your forum to work as I believe that there is room for 2 forums (or even more) in Cambodia. But make yours something that is yours - not a "ooooh look what they're doing", which seems to be what is happening at this time - seriously, the amount of posts by former k440s who want to air their grievances of the past, is like watching countless re-runs of those I joined Scientology/Branch Dividians/Mormons/Rajneeshees and escaped programs. Same same but only very little difference.
Best wishes for your forum! :beer3:

"But make yours something that is yours - not a "ooooh look what they're doing""
By and large that's what we're trying to do, however certain things they're doing DO deserve some attention... and even the "oh oh look, they are now talking about morning teas" was in response to their criticism of us and our "stats" (while they were attacking two of our advertisers no less)... which laughable to even suggest comparing considering that our forum is only like 2 weeks old while wayback theirs has been around for over a decade.

almost all of the "bashing" on here is people reacting in response to their actions... when they leave us be, then we'll likely be free to move on fully to our own thing. in the mean time, i'd suggest just ignoring the threads regarding them if it's something that bothers you and focusing on the other postings (which there are).

as for the suggestion you copied the thread... silliness. there will inevitably be cross talk, and often picture choices will be limited, resulting in the same images on both. especially in the case of deaths where the amount of public pictures of the individual will be few. no sense in getting upset over it or attacking one another for it.
