Over 30Kgs Ketamine Seized in Massive Drug Bust; Phnom Penh

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Maybe he was very sick, had a bunch of horses to put to sleep, and was willing to share his favorite post-covid-drepression cure to cheer-up some friends ?

Anyway, Destination Fucked is served.

Contraindications

The use of ketamine is cautioned against in cases of:[69][6]

Conditions worsened by an increase in blood pressure or heart rate, such as angina, stroke, poorly controlled high blood pressure. Ketamine increases both heart rate and blood pressure.
Psychiatric disorders: Ketamine can cause hallucinations, and therefore may exacerbate the symptoms of certain psychiatric disorders.
Ketamine was once thought to cause increased intracranial pressure (IICP): as of 2014, this is believed not to be the case.[70]
Raised intraocular pressure (IOP): Ketamine can further increase IOP.
Penetrating eye injury: Can increase risk of loss of eye contents, due to increased IOP.
Acute porphyria: Ketamine is considered porphyrinogenic, that is, it may provoke an attack of acute porphyria, a disease of the nervous system, in susceptible people.

Side effects

When administered by trained medical professionals, ketamine is generally safe for those people who are critically ill.[71] Even in these cases, there are known side effects that include one or more of the following:[72]

Cardiovascular: abnormal heart rhythms, slow heart rate or fast heart rate, high blood pressure or low blood pressure
Central nervous system: Ketamine is traditionally avoided in people with or at risk of intracranial hypertension (ICP) due to concerns about ketamine causing increased intracranial pressure. It does not increase ICP more than opioids.[73]
Dermatologic: Transient reddening of the skin, transient measles-like rash
Gastrointestinal: reduced appetite, nausea, increased salivation, vomiting
Local: Pain, eruptions or rashes at the injection site
Neuromuscular and skeletal: Increased skeletal muscle tone (tonic-clonic movements)
Ocular: Double vision, increased intraocular pressure, involuntary eye movements, tunnel vision
Respiratory: Airway obstruction, cessation of breathing, increased bronchial secretions, reduced effort to breathe, spasm of the vocal cords (larynx)
Other: Anaphylaxis, dependence, emergence reaction

At anesthetic doses, 10–20% of people experience adverse reactions that occur during emergence from anesthesia, reactions that can manifest as seriously as hallucinations and delirium.[27] These reactions may be less common in some subpopulations, and when administered intramuscularly, and can occur up to 24 hours postoperatively; the chance of this occurring can be reduced by minimizing stimulation to the person during recovery and pretreating with a benzodiazepine, alongside a lower dose of ketamine.[27] People who experience severe reactions may require treatment with a small dose of a short- or ultrashort-acting barbiturate.[72]

Tonic-clonic movements are reported at higher anesthetic doses in greater than 10% of people.[19]

By physicians and vet doctors, in controlled conditions, with careful monitoring. Who evaluate each patient prior to administration for issues.

Just like cocaine.

Not handed out by the local drug dealer with a needle in a boarded house somewhere.

Big difference.
