27 Official Days of Holiday in 2015! (PRAKAS/Calender)

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

. . . . . Where I work, with annual leave, sickies and public holidays, I only need to work 3.8 days a week (average over 1 year). Paid.

Dunno for the expats, but as far as I know Khmers working in bars, restaurants, hotels and guesthouses only get Khmer NY and maybe chinese NY as holidays - the rest comes down to personal negociation.

I've heard other companies tell staff to pick 15 public holidays, and that's their leave for the year.

Employing someone as a business manager soon, suspect we'll barely see him in an average year given holidays and other leave. It's almost more rewarding just giving an annual income to a random stranger!

Also just discovered that many companies give staff half a month's salary as a bonus at New Year, and again at Pchum Ben. Anyone aware of this?

I've heard the same. Mostly from people working at NGO's. 15 days from the PH and they choose which ones to take.
