Fashion in Phnom Penh?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Hi folks,

I'm looking for places where I can take some photos of stylish Khmer. Any suggestions?

Try google fashion + artist + phnom penh, get showroom adresses & names, yippeee.

Em Riem comes to mind, but it looks like his X-Em Gallery has closed. Extravagonzo fashionisto.

Khmers aren't what I'd call "stylish" yet. Some are of course (to a western eye), but it's not at all like what you'd see downtown or in a trendy neighbourhood of any major city, where left and right you'd see trendy people. Your best bet is in the evenings or in malls, as Khmers also don't walk on sidewalks. Some teens are starting to have their own style though, so are the 20s crowd. For the most part though, you'll be waiting a long time with your camera at the ready.

There are plenty of stylish people around, you won't find too many wandering around the markets and riverside foreigner hangouts though - try some restaurants/ cafes/ clubs in better areas.
