Renewing U.S. Passport
Renewing U.S. Passport
Hello,
I am wondering if anyone has renewed their passport here in Phnom Penh and if so what is that process like? I'm sure there is a post about it already but I searched with no luck...cheers!

US embassy website (citizen services):
https://kh.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/
Looks like they are "closed" these days. Either way, you need to contact them to make an appointment or get some advice.

Thank you so much!
Re: Renewing U.S. Passport
The following is from the US Embassy as of 4 June:
The U.S. Embassy Phnom Penh reminds U.S. citizens that the U.S. government has suspended production of regular full-validity passports and CRBAs. The U.S. Embassy Phnom Penh will accept and transmit regular passport and CRBA applications to the printing centers in the United States; however, those applications will be added to a printing queue and will only be processed once printing centers in the United States resume operations. We are unable to estimate when printing centers in the United States will return to normal operations. In the interim, U.S. citizens can request a limited-validity emergency passport with their regular passport application in order to have a valid passport in their possession while waiting for a full-validity passport.

Re: Renewing U.S. Passport
Luckily, I dont need to renew my passport until about six months out from now, about the time my visa expires. I am hoping the US Embassy in PP is somewhat back to normal by then. I cant see why they arent open like normal except maybe 80 percent of the staff vamanos back to
the USA when they announced to get while the getting was good.
Good luck Camgolian.
Just my 2cents,
thanks,
