Farmer Arrested for Killing Rare Pig-Tailed Macaque in Cambodia

Cambodia News(Stueng Treng): A farmer, who killed a rare monkey species (Pig-Tailed Macaque), was sent to Steung Treng Court to follow the legal procedures. The dead macaque was taken to be burned and buried on June 12, 2020.

The suspect was identified as Nang Yun, a 35-year-old man, who lived Sen San district, Stueng Treng. The police confiscated the dead macaque and the airgun the farmer used to kill it with.

Looks like a black-shanked douc langur to me, rather than a macaque. The red-shanked douc looks particularly good: Image
