The Horten Ho 229. A German prototype plane in 1944-1945. Only 3 where built. It was the first jet powered flying wing aircraft.

What's better than a B-36? A B-36 launching a parasite fighter (F-84)! Ten GRB-36D carriers and 25 RF-84K fighters were in service in 1955-6 for recon purposes. Project FICON.

XF-91 Thunderceptor. The only aircraft ever built with inverse tapered wings. The second prototype was given a V-tail for extra weirdness. (Ca. 1951)
