$50,000 medical insurance needed?

Post by wolfcreek »

I have health insurance but it is only good in the country where I live and work (not valid in Cambodia). I will visit Cambodia next month so I need to purchase a $50,000 policy. Anyone have any recommendations? Someone said that many of the policies for sale online will not cover COVID 19.

Since insurance companies are in business to make a profit.
How could there be a chance of finding insurance with immediate coverage during an active pandemic without having to pay 10's of thousands of dollars ?

Here in Germany a lot of travel insurance policies cover covid 19 and up to much higher amounts than 50000$. I looked at Barmer and Allianz. Quite reasonable.

If you don’t work here you might want to check if you can get a visa before you spend money on health insurance.

I spoke w/ someone at Cigna global health insurance. He quoted me $209.00 per month. I never got health insurance when going to cambodia before but obviously takes 1 fuck up or accident and you can assed out. I usually go for the summer so 2 months. Unsure where you located but when I called Cigna they were responsive and answered all my questions

You’ll be safe from road accidents for 16-18 days automatically due to testing and quarantine.

Called Cigna as well. For travel insurance, they have what is needed to enter the country.

209 bucks? Fuck that. Especially when you spend the first half of it in quarantine. There must be something cheaper that will do the job.
