Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On June 6, 2020, at 1:00 pm, a 66-year-old Danish national, FRITZ HENRIK ​HEGNER, a tourist, died of a drug overdose his room at a guesthouse, on street 172, Sangkat Chey Chumneas, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh.

According to a woman named Sun Nary, 35 years old, a waitress, the victim checked-in at the guesthouse on May 28, 2020, at 8:30 pm, and he stayed in room no. 12, on the first floor. He usually came down to have some food and coffee and then left to go outside.
On June 5, at 9:30 pm, the Danish man looked as if he was very drunk. He sat down to drink tea for 10 minutes, until a night shift manager told him to go to his room.
The next day, on June 06, 2020, at 1 pm, the cleaner said she went to knock at the victim's room, but no reply. So then, the cleaner took the key from the receptionist to unlock the door and found that the victim was lying naked on the floor near the refrigerator. After that, the staff reported to the police immediately.

The local police reported to the prosecutor, department of Science and Technology, and minor crime police of the department of investigation and procedure to arrange an autopsy. The victim's personal belongings, such as 4000 riels and some clothes, were taken to the Department of investigation and procedure at the Department of Immigration. The ATM card was taken to the department of Technical Police, Ministry of Interior.

After the examination, Dr. Norng Sovannaroth concluded that the victim died of a heart attack caused by a drug overdose. The body was taken to keep at the mortuary in Stueng Meanchey pagoda.

I knew him, he was a sort of long term tourist who moved between Europe, India, Nepal and here. He looked terrible, like a corpse. I knew he smoked weed and drank, he was often completely incoherent. I suspected he was into heavier stuff but he never talked about it. He usually stayed in BKK1 and seemed to have plenty of money, he had a Ducati motorbike that I couldn't understand how he controlled. Anyway RIP you crazy fucker.
