A poorly planned, badly executed, late, ad-hoc lockdown has obviously not worked so well.
But where it has been done effectively, as demonstrated in a number of countries, the death rate has been negligible.
AND the damage to the economy has also be minimised.
Don't blame failed lockdowns (or even China) - blame your own shitty craven corrupt leadership, your broken social compact, your replacement of human values with economic indicators, and your own self-disempowered citizenry for all your unnecessary deaths and the worst effects on your economy.
If this experience has not rocked your faith in your leaderships then God help us all. What could be a more stark example of sheer ineptitude and a totally broken system?

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

i see lots of
"they did this wrong, never should have locked down, did this to late, should open up, the leaders are no good, corrupt etc etc.."
BUT it seems out of 190 or so odd countries someone has tried everything, ( from Sweden to Sinagpre to Japan to USA)
nowhere has anyone been entirely successful
so all u keyboard warriors that keep using the blame game, (yet I see no drs or "leaders" on this forum)
what would you have done differently ?
passed 100,000 deaths in the states>
all i can say, is we should have ( and should continue to) listet to the drs

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

doctors are generally of the 'lock society up and throw away the key' mentality - often haughty and arrogant
Just like that dickhead Ferguson in UK, who predicted 500K deaths and clamoured for enforced lockdown, whilst he of course got to break it by needing to get laid by someone else's woman!

No. The price you pay is, as just one example, £300 billion budget deficit in the UK instead of the projected one of £55 Billion at the start of March. Repeat this all around the world. And this is just for this year.finish_money wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 9:37 pm 'The price you pay': Sweden's 'herd immunity' experiment backfires

Below is the actual deaths per million globally. No 7 day rolling average taken out of context to try to smear Sweden , as has been the game ever since they refused to follow the herd over the cliff. Every country in the top ten have put their economies into a coma and they are now struggling to revive them.
That's the price we are paying.

look hereElectric Earth wrote: ↑Wed May 27, 2020 3:46 pmWhat's their percentage based on their total population? A country with 40 people can only have 40 deaths. Does that mean they have the best plan ever because only 40 people died?

One lesson should be learnt by the world. The next time China freaks out and start locking people up in their homes and arresting doctors, the whole world should quarantine them, the same day. Seals the borders and stop all flights in and out. And country that doesn't want to join in (Cambodia) they can have isolation too. Then we can wait a while a see how it pans out.

Sweden is extremely large with a relatively small population, outside a few urban centers people have been distancing for centuries. Comparing their numbers to densely populated countries is useless.

I'd like to see something similar to the United Nations Atomic Energy Commission being created to police any country suspected of developing biological warfare from now on. And with this agency should come the ability for them to place trade sanctions and worse should those countries not comply with inspections or have any sort of biological "accident".Doc67 wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 4:25 pm One lesson should be learnt by the world. Please explain Japan then? No lockdown. Old population. Densely populated. 126 million people. 858 deaths. 6.78 per million
Italy & France 126 Million 61,000 deaths 484 deaths per million
