Smart or Cellcard

Post by Jacobincambodia »

So I was playing with someone's phone and they were using 4G with Smart. It was screaming fast! Now I'm wondering if it would be worth switching to Smart. Anyone else have experience with Smart? Coverage and basic 3G good or not?

Hi Jacob,

I've been using Smart 3G for at least a couple of years. The best that can be said of it is it is usually pretty cheap - if you call other Smart users you get free talk time even if you've run out of credit and can't call other networks or O/S you can still talk to local smart users. I think it is 30 mins a day free talk.

The biggest problems are dropouts and the network being unavailable. The dropouts seem to happen less now than they did about a year ago. It got to the stage where I tried Beeline for a while instead but gave up with them. During any big holiday period the network will have frequent times where you simply cannot get a connection. Can be quite frustrating if you are trying to contact family or arrange something.

Also, I don't have a smart phone and only use Smart for calls or SMS.

Hope that helps.

How fast is "screaming fast"?

What does Smart's 4G service cost with them?

No problem. You gave a much better info on your new thread, I just saw your screenshot and had to post it.

Now I know what "screaming fast" means. :thumb:
