Kudos to the on-line English teacher

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Kudos to the on-line English teacher

Post by newkidontheblock »

Just wanted to give a big kudos to the on-line English teacher, you know who you are.

Missus is getting tons of homework, customized to work on her weak areas. He emphasizes pronunciation, so much so Khmer complain that they actually have to speak English clearly, unlike in Khmer where syllables are dropped and mumbled. Students are continuously watched and problems addressed on the spot. Students complain that they can’t disappear for the bathroom, because he teaches so much! Reading comprehension taught now is now on par to material in western high schools. The teacher is now teaching students how to skim articles.

Being a student in his class is a real full time job, as it should be. Missus is learning by leaps and bounds, and getting a background education in western culture as well (like any high school student would get in the west).

Thanks for being the teacher every student needs.
