My partner the doctor is ignorant

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

My partner the doctor is ignorant

What is cramp in Khmer. My partner insists the word with crocodile in it means only cramp in the calf muscle.

Don't know but in my experience the worst cramp is in the hamstring not in the calf. When you're hamstring goes, nothing else in the world is of any consequence.

Yeah, she's not messing with you. It's "romul kropeu", which basically means twisting crocodile. I used to just say "chob tchung", but people looked at me weird (yet understood).

The word cramp is not specific enough. This is the translation for 'cramp in muscle'.

My hamstring cramped only once, HARD. It is intense and relentless pain, I recoiled so much both my calves cramped too simultaneously. It took a long while to uncramp too.

I had it a lot as a kid not so much as an adult.

it is literally complete panic. you have to relax. if you can get in a position where you can stamp your foot that helps sort it.
