Chinese Drug User to be Deported

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On May 11, 2020, at 1:30 pm, the Investigation and procedure department of the General Department of Immigration received a 22-year-old Chinese man, WU WEI, from Khan Porsenchey police post in Phnom Penh.

Lieutenant Chea Chetra, director of investigation and procedure department, said that on May 5, 2020, Khan Porsenchey police arrested the Chinese suspect for using drugs on Russian Federation road,in Khan Porsenchey. The suspect was sent to court, so the prosecutor Vong Bunvisoth charged him under article 45 of the law on drugs, saying the man needed to get treatment and rehabilitation.

Then on May 10, the suspect was sent to get the COVID-19 test at Khmer Soviet hospital, and the result was negative. He was then sent on to the General Department of Immigration to prepare his deportation.
