Man Gored to Death Trying to Rescue Stranded Buffalo
Cambodia News (Kandal): On May 2, 2020, at noon, a 68-year-old man, Boun Thol, a worker at a brick factory was attacked and killed by a female buffalo that he was trying to rescue, in Beng Chonlen village, Mok Kompol district, Kandal.
The victim's family said the man used to go fishing every day to get food for the family. On May 2, 2020, the victim and his family went to work at the brick factory as usual at 4am, and after having lunch, the victim went to check his fishing net. Then he saw a buffalo that was stuck in some mud in a lake. The victim wanted to help the buffalo, so he tried to pull on the rope that was tied to the buffalo to free it from the mud. Unfortunately, the man slipped and fell under the buffalo's feet and the beast stomped on the man until he died.
At noon, the victim's grandson went to the scene and saw the victim's body, so he called his parents. The body was taken to the house and his family reported the incident to the police. The police examined the body and concluded that the buffalo attacked the victim, resulting in his death.
No good deed goes unpunished as they say. RIP.

You said it CEO News, no good deed.
If it cannot free itself I guess they will need to lasso its horns and pull it out with a team or with vehicles.

Still here, in country...

Only guessing obviously, but I suspect they might have lost a little bit of interest in freeing the buffalo now.Ravensnest wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2020 1:31 pm You said it CEO News, no good deed.

No prizes for guessing what's on the menu for the wake.

It was not the owner that passed. just a random guy that tried to help. who knows what happened to it. I'm assuming they have a hefty value here but I may be wrong.

Re: Man Gored to Death Trying to Rescue Stranded Buffalo
RIP to the poor Khmer man and his family.
But the laws of physics was against him from the start. Water buffalo 500-1000 kg. Now stuck on the mud, more like 2000 kg. Khmer man 50 kg. No contest.
To make it worse, when the guy slipped and fell underneath him, the water buffalo tried to use him for leverage, like putting logs in front of a stuck vehicle. Unfortunately the human body isn’t a dense, rigid object, it’s pretty squishy, and it didn’t work.
Definitely a closed casket cremation.

Why does the thread title say he was gored to death when the article says he was stomped to death?
