Forget the virus!! Killer Hornets are on their way
'Murder Hornets,' With Sting That Can Kill, Land in US
The world’s largest hornet, a 2-inch killer dubbed the “Murder Hornet” with an appetite for honey bees, has been found in Washington state, where entomologists were making plans to wipe it out.
https://www.usnews.com/news/news/articl ... ands-in-usThe giant Asian insect, with a sting that could be fatal to some people, is just now starting to emerge from winter hibernation.
“They’re like something out of a monster cartoon with this huge yellow-orange face,” said Susan Cobey, a bee breeder at Washington State University.
“It’s a shockingly large hornet,” said Todd Murray, a WSU Extension entomologist and invasive species specialist. “It’s a health hazard, and more importantly, a significant predator of honey bees.”
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/05/worl ... 5opQKqyu00TOKYO — Long before the Asian giant hornet began terrorizing the honeybees of Washington State, the ferocious insects posed a sometimes lethal threat to hikers and farmers in the mountains of rural Japan.
But in the central Chubu region, these insects — sometimes called “murder hornets” — are known for more than their aggression and excruciating sting. They are seen as a pleasant snack and an invigorating ingredient in drinks.
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

Don't forget that pesticides are a much bigger danger to honey bees than these hornets.
And from personal experience, these "killer hornets" look scary, but they are not as agressive as the common European wasp. They are big and kind of stupid. We set up some wasp traps for these hornets and they died by the hundreds in our garden.
And if you want to worry about something apart from coronavirus, dengue fever is also spreading into temperate areas due to climate change and global transport. Termites too.
Plenty of stuff to worry about if you look around.

Always "hope" but never "expect".

I got stung by the giant Asian hornet. It didn't attack me as such it was on the back of the sofa and I sat against it. it was pretty bad but not much worse than a normal wasp.

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.
