Future Bridegroom Stabbed while Sleeping in a Hammock

Cambodia News, Kompong Chhnang: A young man who was on a visit to his future in-laws in Mong French Village, Kampong Chhnang City, was stabbed while lying in a hammock at around 1:50 pm on May 1 2020.

The victim's father-in-law, Nim Kim, said that his future son-in-law, Kim Sreng, 23, was planning on moving to the village to live with his bride after the forthcoming wedding. The young man was having a sleep after lunch with the family, when a mentally ill drug addict known as Acute stabbed him with a knife in the chest in an unprovoked attack. After being taken to Kamong Chhnang Referral Hospital, the victim was transferred to Phnom Penh due to the gravity of his condition.

The inhabitants of Mong French Village are upset and alarmed at the attack. According to them, the 35-year-old attacker is a drug addict who wanders the streets, and they say he is a public danger who should have been locked away from their children a long time ago.
