good time to be in PP?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

good time to be in PP?

Post by bucknaked »

Hi all

bunkered down in Melbourne with winter weather just kicking in I'm starting to think this will be the first year that I wont be able to travel over after doing so for the last 5 years in a row ...noooooooo

whats it like over there currently? i'm thinking if I'm being isolated somewhere surely there is better, bloody warmer at least
Koh Rong....do they even know this is happening?

Sounds like most of your bars are closed like here [all] where have all the girls gone? underground? throwing themselves at the few Westerners "stuck" there?

hard to imagine that in the space of a few months the whole world has gone to shit

Plenty of bars and restaurants are still open.

I'm not "stuck"here, I never had any intention of leaving.

Most people knew what you meant.
I am in SR and was planning on leaving for 6 weeks this month but that plan is long gone and I was happy I waited and did not buy a ticket in early February.
I am not leaving until I know I can get back here.
Siem Reap is quiet ...but, people are still working where they can..
You may not be able to go to a KTV or bar...but, you. can buy liquor and beer...etc.
My wife and I do not go out to restaurants anyway.
My favorite bar closed ...for good...sadly.
I am able to find medicine for this ongoing glaucoma issue I have ...
I sure would rather be here than cooped up elsewhere.
My Khmer friend who has a ladies bar in PP is in tough shape..
My heart goes out to all service industry personel.
I feel very lucky to be here.
I just received $1200 thanks to Trump and started spending it today.
Good luck in Melbourne and I hope you can get back here soon.

yes I feel for those people that relied on the tourist industry to survive, plenty will go belly up in Australia I guess but at least the government are giving some assistance, can't imagine that in Cambodia
