Sweden, led by [health minister of Anders] Tegnell and his colleagues at FHM [health authority], went its own way, to the shock of the world, and created its own model to achieve national herd immunity. Moderate social distancing was advised (but not enforced) and the focus was on protecting the elderly. Businesses were advised to limit density of crowds, schools were not closed—life went on. It’s working.

“The curve is very flat, really since the beginning of April and that’s very good news,” Tegnell said. “It’s very good news, there’s no rise in cases in Stockholm, at all.”

This comes on the heels of 22 formidable doctors from Europe, opposing the engulfing Covid model and propaganda.

One of them, renowned German infectious disease expert Dr. Sucharit Bhakdi, called his government’s anti-Covid measures “grotesque, absurd and very dangerous. The life expectancy of millions is being shattered.” Referring to the impact on the world economy as “horrifying,” Bhakdi really did not mince words:

“All these measures are leading to self destruction and collective suicide based on nothing but a spook.”

Good article. I've been trying to keep an eye on Sweden. There is not a word about it on the audio/visual media in the UK. The Guardian had a report yesterday, slightly negative and, of course, nothing along the lines of how much money their economy has preserved by going down this route and how much the European economies have tanked by going their way. The dirty secret in Europe that must be causing concern in high places - "what have we done?" types of concern.

One of the biggest fault of politicians is the inability to admit they were wrong. At most you get the 'lessons to be learned' mantra. The bigger the mistake, the slower and less likely an admission will be made. This is so huge that I cannot ever see a government admit they got it badly wrong. But Sweden is poised to expose a folly which has cost Europe more money than it can afford.

The question now is how quickly will they row back or will they all agree to double down with safety in numbers?

All eyes on Sweden...

Everyone probably has low dose exposure to the virus. Since most places in the Kingdom of Wonder are open air, the virus can’t super concentrate into lethal levels.

At least that’s my opinion. The difference between New York City and Phnom Penh in terms of severity.

Or more likely: it's gone through here already and many have been infected and recovered. I know of several people who got sick but were "scared" of getting tested. The right thing to do? Of course not, but they recovered. They (perhaps understandably so) don't trust their own medical system, so wouldn't surprise me if numbers are far higher than we think. More realistically: the number of 50+ people who suffer from underlying medical problems (obesity/heavy smoking/lung or coronary disease) is simply too small for the government to notice a jump in deaths that could be attributed to Covid. Or maybe we're just really lucky that nothing came to us via the direct flights from Wuhan weeks ago...

Ischgl is near the point where Austria, Italy and Switzerland meet and has described itself as the “Ibiza of the Alps”. It is now clear that more than 800 cases spread across Austria can be traced back to the resort and the surrounding Paznaun valley.

In February and early March, the virus found a breeding ground in crowded apres-ski bars. Hundreds of foreign tourists were infected in Ischgl and then unwittingly took the virus home with them.

Trump may have asked a question that could be considered a stupid one, and he may have used the word “inject” where he shouldn’t have, but he did not suggest that people do anything; certainly not consume (or inject) household disinfectants.
I’ve said it myself, many times, that Trump needs to stop putting his foot in his mouth, but he DID NOT suggest or recommend that anyone should consume or inject disinfectants of any kind.

So my question is, if he DID NOT say that, then why are so many people saying that he did?
The best answer I can come up with, is that it’s because the vast majority of people now consume their information in the form of headlines, Twitter feeds, or memes such as the one posted above, rather than actually reading an entire article or watching a boring press conference from start to finish.

This kind of word twisting, and cutting/splicing of quotes falls into the same category of reporting as those times when we were told that Trump called all Mexicans criminals and rapists, or that he grabs women by the pussy without their consent, and is therefore a sexual predator.
And again, and again, and again, I’m not a Trump supporter. All I want is some neutral reporting of facts, rather than having to settle with some biased pundit’s interpretation of what the President actually said.

However, the source is not a news outlet. It's a right wing blog. Nothing wrong with that in itself, but their reports are not neutral, so take that into account when reading.

Yeah I should have checked the publication. But I read the piece first and thought it was pretty good and thorough with lots of quotes from the health chief and others. I always look for that in any "news" or "feature". The piece hung together and I didn't detect an agenda, except that it was a rather complimentary piece from a fellow Swede. But this is the first one about Sweden's approach that dug deeper than the usual half-baked crap from today's MSM.
