Free/Discounted Photo Editing Software Deals

Post by Cowshed Cowboy »

With people stuck indoors some Photo Editing Software providers are currently offering versions of their programs free or at discount rates to entice new users to their platform, perhaps also recognising customers disenchantment with Adobe's move to a subscription/rental model. I've just taken advantage of the following offers from a couple of well known providers :

1) Luminar 3 by Skylum ( Free). The current version is 4 and comments on the photography forum I'm on seem to show a preference for the free version 3.

2) Aurora HDR 2018 by Skylum ( Free). Link is through UK Amateur Photographer as follows - www.skylum.com/ap-aurora.

3) Affinity Photo by Serif ( 50% off to $25).

All the above are available for Windows and Mac. Whilst no one can argue Photoshop is the most fully featured software it comes at a hefty ongoing price, and these should satisfy most enthusiastic amateurs needs. Plenty of short youtube videos giving an overview of each one if yoh are interested.

never heard of any of those
BUT if for whatever reason if ur not going to to get cs5 from a torrent site

try lightroom for free
https://download.cnet.com/Adobe-Photosh ... 63039.html

a good light alternative to using adobe bridge and Photoshop

PS; doubt any of those free versions allow you to work in layers

What's wrong with good, old open-source Blender. Runs on Windows, macOS, Linux. And, it's FREE forever.
