Thai Huot Supermarket Coming to Siem Reap, Cambodia
Thai Huot, the well-known supermarket brand, will open an outlet in Siem Reap early next year, according to the owner’s assistant Chheay Sinath.
The new supermarket will be on Samdech Tep Vong Street, in front of the Cellcard office in the central market area, on the site previously occupied by Angkor Mondial Restaurant.
“It is going to open in February and will be filled with a wide array of foreign products, with the focus on French and European goods,” Sinath said. “But now the market is under construction and there is still a lot of work to do.”
He added that the new supermarket will feature low prices, excellent quality, a wide choice of products, convenient parking and “friendly service in a pleasant and relaxing environment.”
The Siem Reap branch will be the fourth to open in the Kingdom, with three Thai Huot outlets already operating in Phnom Penh.
“Our Thai Huot markets in Phnom Penh are running very smoothly, and get lots of local and expatriate customers,” Sinath said.
Thai Huot Trading Co Ltd was established by a Khmer family in 1989 and the supermarket opened in 1994 to serve local and expatriate customers.
According to Thai Huot’s website, it has “gradually developed from a small shop into a wholesale food and consumer product supplier to hotels and restaurants and supermarket retailer with a trusted reputation for quality and reliability.”
The new supermarket will test the loyalty of many expats who flock to their chosen store, the small and much loved Angkor Market on Sivutha Boulevard.
Another well patronised outlet, Lucky Supermarket has.....

Re: Thai Huot Supermarket Coming to Siem Reap, Cambodia
Thanx a lot for this info, General. Yes, we have this Angkor Market (which is the best in town), but they have prices......PRICES !!!!! Lucky Supermarket here is just ridiculous (high prices, next to no choice), and the others sell either fake or rotten products. So YES !!!....we need more Supermarkets here, more competition and we need more European foodstuff here (can't see this overpriced, too much salt containing American "Brats" anymore).
Und der Haifisch der hat Tränen
Und die laufen vom Gesicht
Doch der Haifisch lebt im Wasser
So die Tränen sieht man nicht
In der Tiefe ist es einsam
Und so manche Träne fliesst
Und so kommt es dass das Wasser
In den Meeren salzig ist
Und die laufen vom Gesicht
Doch der Haifisch lebt im Wasser
So die Tränen sieht man nicht
In der Tiefe ist es einsam
Und so manche Träne fliesst
Und so kommt es dass das Wasser
In den Meeren salzig ist
