Police Officer Shot his Brother-in-Law at Family Party
Cambodia News (Kandal): On April 15, 2020, it was reported that at 7 pm, a police officer, Sen Ranuth, 35 years old, shot his brother-in-law to death in Chong Koh village, Ksach Kandal district, Kandal.
During a New Year family gathering, the police officer got into an argument with his wife, Kong Sokchea. But the man became violent, and when he pulled out his gun and pointed it at his wife, her brother tried to stop him, and got shot in the throat. The victim, who died at the scene, was identified as Mao Bunheng, 25 years old.
After shooting his brother-in-law, the police officer rode off on his motorbike to escape. He is now being sought by Kandal police forces.
Immediately , Lieutenant Choeun Sokchet, police chief in Kandal province, led his men to the scene to investigate and to examine the body. A holster and a bullet were found at the crime scene.

Kandal, Cambodia News: A week after police officer Sen Ranuth shot his brother-in-law during a family party, the suspect has been detained after he was found in a forest in Steung Treng province.
The officer fled the scene of the shooting on his motorbike. He will be sent to Kandal Provincial Police Headquarters for questioning and legal action.
