Yeah, and those hedge funds are handling peoples savings and pension funds, so the average guy in the street will share the pain even if he doesn't realise ittruffledog wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2020 12:42 pm The money they made surely does not come from poor people but is other rich investors losing money on the wrong side of the bet.

The stock market is a form of (relatively) low risk gambling, and at least in the US, we have to acknowledge before investing, that there is no guaranty of growth, and that value may be lost. Everyone in the market is playing, and it's a game that some win, some lose. Winning doesn't make them bad.

The Walmart family’s net worth is 191 billion, is a company that’s notorious for keeping workers “part time” so they can avoid having to pay benefits, and trains their management how to be “anti-union” with videos like this:Walmart will use that billion dollars to expand its operations
Sorry for the off-topic rant, but Walmart is one of the biggest bullshit companies in America who destroyed 10’s of thousands of small businesses along the way. They suck.

I get the sentiment, and agree it's far from perfect, but Wal-Mart is sure taking care of us during the all over shut down. It's open, has toilet paper, and offers the lowest prices anywhere. For consumers, that's a big win.
