Singaporean Businessman Found Dead in Hotel Le Royal

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

All these young heart attack deaths here got me thinking, so I did some investigation. Here's the rate of deaths caused by circulatory system in the 25-34 age group in the US 1997-2012. LINK: http://wonder.cdc.gov/controller/datare ... 04B9C5D207
Age Group
25-34 years 100/1,450,883 or < 0.1/1000 or 1 in 10,000
I did the exact math 0.0068. or 6.8/100,000. I wonder what it is here ?

The obvious problem is that they throw EVERYTHING into the heart attack category.

Hopefully we see an update in the media..

Obviously. This is what I was trying to elucidate in those stats. 30 years olds don't die of heart attacks even among the inactive gamer, corpulent, grease & high fructose corn syrup swilling, artery clogged, American population.

In Cambodia I think there are only two causes of death (not counting old age):

- Stopped breathing (blame it on the trees)

- Heart stopped pumping

Why the heart stopped or why they stopped breathing is irrelevant (and probably time-consuming).

This is the best news I've heard all day.

No, suicide would be covered in the above causes of death.
For example, if you were to suicide by cutting off your head then driving into a lake, that would clearly be 'stopped breathing'.
If you were to suicide by taking H which the tuk-tuk driver assured you was E, that's a clear cut heart attack (Heart stopped beating).
