Changing Eating Habits and Cooking at Home

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Social shift: Eating habits are changing as more people staying home are preparing their food at home. What about you ? Are you cooking more, or eating differently because of the coronavirus ? Are we eating more healthy food, or less ?

Anyone here making their own bread or pizzas ? Where to buy good flour in Cambodia ?
In the UK, flour sales are going through the roof:
Coronavirus: Flour mills working 'round the clock' to meet demand
By Becky Morton BBC News
9 April 2020
With the nation confined to their homes amid the coronavirus lockdown, a rise in home baking appears to be contributing to shortages of flour on supermarket shelves.

Grocery sales of flour were up 92% in the four weeks to 22 March compared to the same period last year, according to consumer analysts Kantar.

The National Association of British and Irish Millers (Nabim) says the industry is "working round the clock", milling flour 24 hours a day, seven days a week to double production - but is still struggling to meet demand.

At Wessex Mill in Oxfordshire, the family business is running at 24-hour operation for the first time in its 125-year history.

Record traffic to their online shop has also forced them to close it down and only open for 10 minutes a day.

"It's unprecedented," says Emily Munsey, who runs the mill with her father. "We've increased production about four-fold but we're nowhere close to meeting the demand we've seen."

Made pizza last night..
I saw that Angkor Market on National 6 in SR had restocked their flour..I was able to get a few kilos of bread flour the other day.
I made John Dory a la Francese today...I had not tasted lemon in Asia for 4 years and the fresh parsley and Kiwi butter just made for a sublime experience.
I paid about 62 cents apiece for a few lemons...and fresh parsley was fair enough..
Romaine lettuce salad with balsamic vinegar and extra virgin with some dijon ...
I think anybody who tries to make their own pizza should be applauded..
The deep dish style from Chicago takes some getting used to by most who never saw one..
All you people who went out most nights and are stuck at home just do your best and look on Youtube for help.
I want some whole wheat flour for bread...
I am disappointed with bread in Cambodia to begin with..I wanted to bake bread for sandwiches last year
after getting tired of over paying for bread I did not like...
I pounded out a butterflied pork tenderloin for tomorrow and got 2 huge portions for about $1.20 each...flour..egg and panko will give me some superb breaded beauties...
Best of luck to all who are in the kitchen and out of their element....
