This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

i'm curious... what part of town do you live in that you're this afraid of skilled thieves?
for example, turning the power off. most of them probably don't even think of that. and while it's not impossible to get past some locks, it's not a quiet process either. probably louder than your alarms.

By Sovanna. I'm reasonably confident that someone with access to the building has been skimming my wallet in the small hours of the night. Not afraid, just not yet armed.

Do you have a missus? ;-)

And if you're in an apt building, do they have cameras?

I do, and we share our accounts, even in Cambodia. Still need to talk to the landlord about the cameras, now he's returned from the provinces.

Bypassing locks is both quiet and possible 'Locks - are only to keep out the lost and curious'

A friend of mine had fishing line attached to the top of the door, with a small bell in the bedroom.

Heard the bell, crept downstairs with a shotgun, and caught two thieves.

Locks picked, power cut, but low-tech possibly saved his life.

What about Web-Cams with Motion Sensing software. Or turn a cell phone into an IP-Cam.
