Where to stay on Koh Rong Island
Where to stay on Koh Rong Island
Hi, for my birthday this year (this month) my husband and I would like to go to one of Cambodia's islands for our first time. We want to go to Koh Rong because I've never been on a white sand beach before, and we want to go before it is developed
Any recommendations for where to stay? We would like to spend less than $35 per night if possible, we're not looking to party, and we'd appreciate good food and drink. If there is anywhere like that on Koh Rong please let me know asap! Thank you!!

Possibly Palm Beach Resort on Koh Rong. It's away from the crazy party area on the island.

Have you considered Koh Rong Samloem?
Saracen Bay is beautiful and it is a bit more for "grown-ups" than Koh Rong.
Saracen Bay Resort is my favourite

Re: Where to stay on Koh Rong Island
I saw a place called Monkey Village (damn, I think that's the name) when I was there that was on the quieter end, but not far from the "action" and good access right on the beach.
I think it was right in your price range, and I didn't see the rooms.
Nice bar with Wi-Fi. Rooms are bungalows on the hillside leading down to the beach.

Koh Rong is scam.
go to Phu Quoc, cheaper, better, 24x7 electricity, air-con everywhere, double rooms with toilet from 15$ up.
and you won't pay 20-30$ for 3hrs on a boat.

yeah, with san flies and mosquitoes and rats included, with no fan by night unless they use a generator, with THIEVES stealing in bungalows, with no police in the island, with sewers going straight in the water, and the list goes on.Mooser wrote:Paradise bungalows
"paradise" ???

Ko Rong Samloem (the small island), Lazy Beach Bungalows. Private beach/cove, good food, laidback, life just doesn't get any better (ask for bungalow #17)

I've been to PQ 2X and while certainly far more interesting than any Cambodian Island, the beaches are meh & don't compare. Everything else is better though.Drifter wrote:Koh Rong is scam.

White beach was very pricy and average when we were there a couple months ago. Didn't seem any better than rooms at a quarter of the price.
It's also a really long walk down the beach carrying bags.
