What are some good and bad names for a half Cambodian baby?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I had 2 accidents ,( I mean kids ) here in the kingdom , the first little girl got stolen away when the mother died and i wasn’t on the birth certificate , but in hindsight I wished i could have named her “ Leah “. after them snail like things the mother used to eat whenever she could .. regrettable..
when I got a little pressure to name the boy and did a little thinking I thought of an icon who just died and I admire whose name means something in cambodian , my little guy is always pointing at something and saying ‘ look ( at that ) ‘.
I named him Merle ..

My wife just vetoed Luke. She says it means "catch" or "grab" in Khmer?
Arguably, "catch" isn't necessarily a bad thing. Like the boy would be a good catch?? :hattip:

Sofia is close enough to Sophea that the kid could change names when it suited her.
