Frenchman and Thai Girlfriend Arrested for Living Illegally in Battambang

Cambodia News (Battambang): On March 31, 2020, General lieutenant Chang Vanchai, the inspector of Battambang city, led his forces to arrest two foreigners who were living illegally in Battambang.
Lieutenant Danh Engbunchan, deputy director of the Immigration Department in Battambang, said the foreign couple came to Cambodia during 2018.

The two foreigners were identified as TONY BRUNO POULAIN, 38-year-old French man, who had a French passport and visa that expired on June 01, 2019, and YUPHIN PANYAMAT, a 44 year old Thai woman with an ID card, but no passport.

The two foreigners were first sent to the Ministry of Health for health checks, and were issued with a Certificat d'Aptitude Physique, now their case will be processed by the Immigration Department for living in Cambodia illegally without the required immigration documents.

That passport photo is from only a year and a half ago.
Must have been his visa that expired in 2019, his passport is good til 2028

That's what I was thinking. That's some deterioration in 18 months and passport photos are never good ones.

What exactly are they going to do with them? At best she'll get shoved over the border at Poipet. But he is in big trouble, there's no flights to France. Looks like a long stay in the slammer.
