The British government travel advice for Thailand is now stating that passengers in transit will need a medical certificate showing that a covid19 test withen the last 48 hours and proof of medical insurance to cover covid19 for $100,000.

It is highly unlikely that any hospital will test for covid19 just to be able to fly, tests are reserved for people who are showing symptoms or have come in close contact with someone who has proved positive.

If anyone knows otherwise please let me know as I have a flight booked with Thai but am caught in this catch 22 situation

I'm looking at getting a flight back to England in the next week or so.

Obviously none of them are direct. Does anyone know if countries limitations apply for people in transit?

Cheers!
In Thailand, the restrictions DO apply to transit flights. This is because transit passengers can infect Thai nationals working in the airport, which would then spread locally. They could also infect cabin crew who are entering Thailand.

Imagine most countries will have similar restrictions.

This from Thai Airways official Twitter page.

''As of 22 MAR 2020, foreign passengers traveling to or transiting through #Thailand are required to present health certificates and health insurance documents upon check-in at the airport of departure.''

I’d try ANA going via Tokyo (Narita). Currently first flight out there will be the 30th, if they don’t go the same way as Taipei and restrict transit pax.

Heard HK now shutting their borders as of Wednesday, including to people in transit.

Have you heard anything on this mate?

Can you get a refund?

My Emirates flight for this Friday back to the UK was cancelled. So I went to the British Embassy for advice as flights to the UK were costing thousands this week, and I didn't think I would get a certificate for the coronavirus here in time to fly back via Bangkok. Went to the British Embassy in Phnom Penh this week, they advised to fly with Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong to London. Flight booked. Now Hong Kong does not allow transits. Been in touch with the airline, and I am now officially stuck here in Cambodia.
No access to funds just now, waiting on a wired transfer and as my job is in Australia and paid on piece rate, those funds are gone.
Stuck.

The Thai authorities have recinded their requirement for a covid19 certificate until 31 March and now require a certificate of fitness to travel, but no indication of who will issue this

They have now announced that from today they are suspending all flights in Asia, from 27 all flights to Australia and from 1st April all flights to Europe.

A complete shutdown of the airline

There are/were some international flights from PP today to KL (Malaysia Airlines), Bangkok, Tokyo, Seoul and Yangon. So anyone wanting to get out might be able to get to those places and transit to where you want to go.

Also lots of flights to China destinations still.

Malaysia today extended their Movement Control Order to 14 April, so while foreigners can transit at KLIA, you can't clear immigration.
