With the situation of the outbreak of the coronavirus infection, which is a dangerous communicable disease as announced by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), currently, the number of patients in Bangkok has increased rapidly. Governor of Bangkok, therefore, has a notification in Bangkok with the subject of temporary order to close the premises (2nd Notification) adding from a previous announcement. The announcement results in the movement of people who are departing from Bangkok and its surrounding provinces to return home.

The Department of Disease Control (DDC) as the secretary office of the National Communicable Disease Board, therefore, requests cooperation to prepare plans for search, surveillance and disease prevention at district and village level as follows:

1. Establishment of a Covid-19 Volunteer Team in each district and village to conduct searches and surveillance.

2. Create a database of travellers, returning from Bangkok and its suburbs and arriving at their hometown from 22 March 2020 onwards.

3. Provide knowledge and create understanding for those who return from Bangkok and suburbs about the outbreak in order to quarantine to observe the symptoms of fever and respiratory symptoms every day, and to avoid being close to others in the place of residence or accommodation until the end of 14 days from the date of arrival in their home town.

4. Notify travellers returning from Bangkok and its surrounding provinces strictly adhere to the following instructons

5.1 Do not eat and share utensils with others.

Not sharing personal items with others such as towels, pillows, blankets, glasses, utensils

Wash hands frequently with water and soap for 20 seconds or 70% of the alcohol until dry

Avoid associating with others, especially talking closely to others, especially with the elderly and chronic patients.

If the travellers have a fever and respiratory symptoms, wear a mask or cloth mask, and immediately notify the health personnel in the area.

Chinese tourist packing their bags to come back to Thailand

Some groups of Chinese say they’re ready to pack their bags and start travelling again. And, astonishingly, Thai tourism officials say they they’re preparing for a return of Chinese tourists!

Chinese tourists groups say they expect to resume their travels in April as the novel coronavirus (Covid19) infections start to subside in China.

Thai tourism officials say they are aiming to apply more safety and health administration programs to help operators enhance their ability to deal with the pandemic and assuring the safety for tourists.

The Thaiger – Whilst we admire the optimism of the TAT Governor and tourism officials that this will “all be over” by April, the stark reality is the pandemic is still in its very early days and still in a swift growth phase worldwide. There are NO epidemiologists, scientists, or the WHO or US CDC who think that this pandemic will see new cases levelling off any time soon.

They don't spend that much individually, they try to keep as much of their spending in Chinese controlled business' and generally just take take take.

There's just a lot of them. Somethimes less is more.

But countries banning Chinese travelers will feel the wrath of the Chinese, economically. So, no country will take measures against Chinese travelers. That's how dependent the whole world has become on China. The Chinese know it, and will use their economic power against anyone blocking them. Only when the entire world would ban the Chinese, it might work, but the chances of that happening are very close to zero.

That's what makes the whole situation ridiculous. The virus originated in China. Which country will come out the strongest? Probably China, unfortunately.
