10 more cases of Covid-19 in Cambodia. Total now 47

Ten more people - 4 Cambodians and six Malaysians - were diagnosed positive for COVID-19 today, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Cambodia to 47.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Health, the ten new confirmed cases, aged from 26 to 62, were found in Battambang, Kandal and Kampong Cham provinces, and Phnom Penh capital.

Two of them are women who have caught the virus from their infected husbands who came from a religious event in Malaysia, it added.

Among the total 47 confirmed cases in Cambodia, there are 28 Cambodians, 3 British, 2 French, a Canadian, a Belgian, 11 Malaysians, and a Chinese who has already recovered, the same source pointed out.

Of the 28 infected Cambodians, it underlined, 23 were among the 79 Cambodians who attended that religious event in Malaysia.

Since the first case detected in Preah Sihanouk province in late January, the COVID-19 pandemic has now hit 13 provinces and capital of Cambodia.

Won't help much if you cannot buy food. Krolanh market in SR was closed this morning as they found two positive Corona cases there.
It's been 24 hours since this post. Have these cases in SR been confirmed? Do you have any links to further info?

i don't know the circumstances (air-conditioned mosque?)

Four New Cases of COVID-19 in Cambodia, bringing total to 51

Interestingly, 1 of the 4 new cases is a Cambodian in Battambang who has not been outside the country.

Another interesting fact: Of the 31 infected Cambodians, 25 were among the 79 Cambodians who attended that religious event in Malaysia.
Let that sink in: of the Cambodians attending the religious event in Malaysia, more than 30% were infected! (so far...)

Here's the press release:
AKP Phnom Penh, March 20, 2020 -- Four more people - 3 Cambodians and a Malaysian - were tested positive for COVID-19 this evening, thus bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Cambodia to 51.

According to a press release of the Ministry of Health, the four new confirmed cases were found in Kampong Cham and Battambang provinces, and Phnom Penh capital.

One of the four cases is a young Cambodian man, 33, who has caught the virus after having a direct contact with an infected man who has returned from a religious event in Malaysia, it pointed out.

Among the total 51 confirmed cases (four women) in Cambodia, there are 31 Cambodians, 3 British, 2 French, a Canadian, a Belgian, 12 Malaysians, and a Chinese who has already recovered, the same source pointed out.

Of the 31 infected Cambodians, it underlined, 25 were among the 79 Cambodians who attended that religious event in Malaysia.

Since the first case detected in Preah Sihanouk province in late January, the COVID-19 pandemic has now hit 13 provinces and capital of Cambodia.
