Bar Closures in Phnom Penh Over COVID-19?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Bars are struggling to make a profit in the off seasons , how can they pay rent when bars are closed. I cannot see money hungry landlords saying , OK you pay me latter. The first on the list will be staff.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Already happening. Many places have already laid off staff. They went back home to their provinces thinking that’s a 2 week break or something. 😬 However, it’s likely not gonna get better for a long time.

As long as the happy is happy, I'm happy and can forgive the bad mozzarella. Speaking of bad mozzarella, I noticed the Pink Elephant Pub was gone. Maybe I should get out more often. I'm out of touch.

You guys who are happy for your own weird reasons about closures of entertainment venues should think about how crime rate will go up because so many people are out of jobs. No, not the unemployed bar girls will attempt to extract money from you but those they provided money to, brothers, etc.

I think those with land or family out in the country will get the fuck out of Dodge. Bug-out Cambo style with a sack of rice and a jar of prahok.
