Following the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak - News and Discussion
Re: Outbreak of Unidentified Coronavirus In China as New Year Approaches
As iv said before, I am a miserable old bastard and lived many years, I have never in my lifetime seen countermeasures t what some are saying “ just a seasonal flu” like this, I admire your positivity but I’m afraid that I don’t believe governments around the world would be willing to lose trillions just for the fun of it,
That’s just my take on it, I’m sure some may disagree

Re: Outbreak of Unidentified Coronavirus In China as New Year Approaches
Beijing on Wednesday ordered people arriving in the city from any country to go into 14-day quarantine as China reported an increase in imported coronavirus cases, threatening its progress against the epidemic.
People arriving in Beijing for business trips must stay in a designated hotel and undergo a nucleic acid test for the virus, he added.
Travelers flying into Beijing Capital International Airport from high-risk countries are now handled separately from other passengers, reported state media on Tuesday.
Flights from Italy, Iran, South Korea and Japan will arrive at a designated area of the terminal, an airport staff member said on Wednesday.

In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST
Re: Outbreak of Unidentified Coronavirus In China as New Year Approaches
From Sept. 2017 to January 2018, Italy registered 3,883,000 diagnosed cases of the common flu. 30 people died from it during those 16 months. In the past 3 weeks alone, Italy has reported 837 deaths from Covid-19 (nearly 200 today alone) and their healthcare system has ground to a halt because all available hospital beds in the north are full with Covid-19 patients who need continuous use of respirators or they will suffocate from pneumonia. Not really comparable to the common seasonal flu, is it?

Then how do you explain this?Stinkman wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2020 9:46 amFrom Sept. 2017 to January 2018, Italy registered 3,883,000 diagnosed cases of the common flu. 30 people died from it during those 16 months. CDC estimates that so far this season there have been at least 34 million flu illnesses, 350,000 hospitalizations and 20,000 deaths from flu.
https://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/index.htm
3.8 million cases, 30 deaths in Italy.
34 million cases, 20 000 deaths in the US.
Numbers don’t add up. Health care in Italy 74x better than in the US?
Re: Outbreak of Unidentified Coronavirus In China as New Year Approaches
Lies, damn lies and statistics. That number of 30 deaths with 3.8 million people diagnosed cannot be right.Stinkman wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2020 9:46 amFrom Sept. 2017 to January 2018, Italy registered 3,883,000 diagnosed cases of the common flu. 30 people died from it during those 16 months. And FYI, we're still far, far off from the flu deaths every year:
"Seasonal flu kills 291,000 to 646,000 people worldwide each year"

Yeah, now I clearly remember the hospitals in Milan shouting out for extra ventilators last year and announcing the collapse of their health care system.frizzie77 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2020 10:04 amLies, damn lies and statistics. Globally, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that the flu kills 290,000 to 650,000 people per year.
So what is all the fuss about? Can you say psyop?
