BREAKING NEWS: Italian PM Places the Whole Country in Lockdown
Coronavirus: Italian PM extends lockdown to entire country
Giuseppe Conte says: ‘There is no more time – our future is in our hands’

Italy’s government has extended emergency measures across the entire country in an attempt to stop the spread of the coronavirus, the country’s prime minister announced at a press conference late on Monday.
The country is struggling to contain Europe’s worst outbreak of Covid-19, which has claimed 463 lives and infected 9,172 people – and late on Monday announced its most drastic measures so far to deal with the crisis.
Giuseppe Conte told people to “stay at home,” as he banned all public gatherings – including Serie A football matches.
Conte announced that internal travel restrictions in northern regions had been extended to cover the entire country and more than 60 million people.
“There is no more time,” announced Conte in a dramatic evening address. “I will take responsibility for these measures. Our future is in our hands.”
“I am going to sign a decree that can be summarised as follows: I stay at home,” he said. “The whole of Italy will become a protected zone.”
Under the decree, all public events will be banned, cinemas, theatres, gyms, discos and pubs closed, and funerals, weddings and sporting events cancelled. All schools and universities will remain closed until 3 April.
The number of deaths from coronavirus in Italy rose from 366 to 463 on Monday, according to the head of the civil protection agency. The total number of cases in Italy rose by 24% to 9,172, and of those originally infected, 724 had fully recovered. Some 733 people were in intensive care against a previous total of 650.
“The figures show we are experiencing a serious increase in infections, an increase in people hospitalized in intensive care – and an increase, unfortunately, in deaths. We need to change our lifestyle. We need to change it now. That’s why I have decided to adopt these hard measures,” said Conte.
Under the new decree, people will only be able to travel between cities for emergency reasons and can face fines and up to three months in jail for breaking quarantine rules.
Checkpoints on motorways, toll booths, train stations and airports are expected to be introduced on Tuesday.
Those who have to leave their region or their cities out of serious necessity can do so only if they have self-certification stating that they must cross the borders for compelling business reasons, health reasons, or because they have to return home.

Re: Outbreak of Unidentified Coronavirus In China as New Year Approaches
Interesting research into Vitamin D and the reduction of lung disease complications from virus and bacteria.
People who are low in Vitamin D get the most benefit from taking a Vitamin D tablet daily or weekly. People with normal levels of vitamin D but increase these levels also saw some reduction in symptoms.
Sould you all rush out and get some vitamin D tablets ?
YES!!!!!

Re: Outbreak of Unidentified Coronavirus In China as New Year Approaches
https://www.khmertimeskh.com/50700026/h ... oronavirusPrime Minister HE yesterday reacted strongly to a Vietnamese state-run media report stating Vietnam will insist on medical declaration for travelers from Cambodia over COVID-19. The VNA on Friday posted its article on its website titled “Medical declarations implemented for travellers from EU and Cambodia”.
The report said Vietnam’s Health Ministry has requested provincial or municipal People’s Committees to get medical declarations on COVID-19 for visitors who travelled through the European Union or Cambodia as of midnight Saturday. It said health officials will insist on medical declarations at border gates with Cambodia.
“Provinces and cities should arrange English and Khmer interpreters to work at the border gates to support and screen medical declaration forms,” it said. Speaking at an inauguration of the National Road 55 in Pursat province yesterday, Mr HE demanded the VNA take down false news on COVID-19 about Cambodia.

The Vietnamese government made it very clear that they do not trust either the Cambodian or Laotian figures. And with good reason.
Re: Outbreak of Unidentified Coronavirus In China as New Year Approaches
Cambodia, Laos and Thailand will be rare sane countries to be in. The rest of the world will be in an Orwellian lock down, all for a kind of flu. Pure insanity.
