(Phnom Penh): Cambodia’s Prime Minister HE ordered all ministries and institutions to reduce expenditures by 50%, except three ministries – Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Council of Ministers, and Ministry of Commerce – which are allowed to reduce expenses by 25%.

The Prime Minister spoke while presiding over the annual conference to review 2019 achievements and set direction for 2020 of the Ministry of Health on Wednesday afternoon, March 4, 2020.

“The reduce of government’s spending can bring back some $400 million to help recover the Cambodian economy affected by the spread of the new coronavirus,” he said. “The number of delegates attending each event abroad also needs to be reduced.”
