TOP NEWS: Ministry of Health Confirms 44 in Cambodia Had Contacts with the Japanese Man Infected with Covid-19
05/03/20 17:56
Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 5 – The Ministry of Health told Fresh News on Thursday that at least 44 in Cambodia had contacts with the Japanese man tested positive with Covid-19.
The 44 will be quarantined for 14 days despite that they are being healthy, according to health official Ly Sovann.
“Four people among the 44 had direct contacts with the man,” Sovann told Fresh News.
Ministry of Health has received clear information from the Japanese side that the Japanese man is indeed positive with Covid-19 when he arrived in Japan, according to Health Minister Mam Bun Heng.
The ministry said the Japanese man is an international businessman, not traveling as a tourist. He has recently been to Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and Japan and that no sources have confirmed when or where he was infected with Covid-19.

Siem Reap officials look for locations where Japanese national, who allegedly tested positive for Coronavirus, stayed
Siem Reap Provincial Governor Tea Seyha said today that he has ordered his officials to search for locations where the Japanese national had stayed after Vietnamese media reported that he tested positive for COVID-19.
According to Vietnam Express news online, a Japanese passenger who transited in Ho Chi Minh City before flying home on a Vietnam Airlines flight has tested positive for Covid-19.
It reported that the passenger, whose identity has not been revealed, took the flight operated by Vietnam Airlines from Siem Reap province to Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday before taking a connecting flight on the same airline to Japan.
After landing at Japan’s Nagoya Airport, the passenger showed symptoms of high fever and was taken to a local hospital, it said, noting that the tests showed that he was positive for the virus.
Mr Seyha said that the Japanese man has run an NGO in Siem Reap province.
“Basically, we have not received an official information from Japan. We heard it from the media,” Mr Seyha said. “However, we are searching for the locations where he had stayed in Siem Reap.”
“Recently, we have received an information he has gone to Philippines and to Thailand and from Thailand back to Siem Reap city before leaving for Vietnam and by a connecting flight to Japan,” he said.
“We would like to stress that he has no symptoms while he was traveling to several countries. So far, we have learnt the information from the media,” he said.

Its becoming clear that the stopping of flights from hot spots didn't close the door on the virus.
Just accept its now about slowing the spread enough to allow hospitals to cope with the seriously ill numbers.
Get your travel insurance sorted if you don't have any would be a wise move.
