Nov 25, 2014 - SINGAPORE (Nov 25):
UOB-KayHian has maintained its “buy” call on KrisEnergy with a target price of $1.18 cents. ... With the strong production volumes partially offset the impact of lower oil prices, KrisEnergy’s 3Q14 revenue rose 33.4% from a year ago to US$18.2 million.
^^ This broker recommendation from 2014.
The share price was .84 cents.
The earnings were $18 million.
The price of oil was $87/barrel.
Today
Oil price less than $60/barrel
Losses $1-200 million annually for past 3/4 years
Share price .03 cents
Company's health >>>
Cambodia’s Block A offshore Apsara oil field is in crisis as Singapore-based KrisEnergy attempts to restructure nearly $500 million in debt after filing for bankruptcy in August.
Block A was supposed to produce Cambodia’s first crude oil next year but analysts are beginning to doubt the firm will reach its goal as it continually struggles with the repayment of hundreds of millions of dollars to banks and foreign creditors.
The firm is saddled with $476.8 million of debt and has already stopped principal loan and interest repayments since August.
“Cambodia’s plan to produce its first crude oil by 2020 appears to have hit a new snag after Singapore’s KrisEnergy filed for bankruptcy in August amid low oil prices and weak oil and gas production,” stated a report by Fitch Solutions Macro Research.
KrisEnergy requested six months of court protection from banks and creditors but was denied at a hearing Monday.
The Singaporean court denied the six month request and ordered the firm to restructure its debt in three months time.

Oil Exploration in Block D Oilfield to Begin This Year
February 14, 2020 --
Cambodia Resources Energy Development Co. is going to conduct oil exploration in the offshore Block D oilfield, after being granted an exploration license.
The company entered an agreement with the Ministry of Mines and Energy in December last year.
H.E. Cheap Sour, Director General of Petroleum at the Ministry of Mines and Energy, said that the signing of agreement is to allow the company to conduct studies and search for oil in Block D, which starts from 2020.
Under the agreement, the company can begin to explore oil from seven to ten years, he said, adding that if the company finds any oil in Block D, it can continue its development for 30 years.
Block D is an offshore concession spanning 5,500 square kilometers and lying over the Khmer basin, an area in Cambodian waters in the Gulf of Thailand.
This is the second petroleum agreement signed so far, after KrisEnergy. This Singapore-based company is currently developing the Apsara oilfield’s Block A. It schedules to extract oil in the first semester of this year, as the company is now preparing the platform for the work.
